I am a graphic designer who loves creativity of all types. I see art and design as a tool for universal communication and want to be a part of the interpretation and exchange of ideas. Through my work, I hope to bring to fruition ideas for those who don’t have the skills or tools, and to bring a voice to the lesser heard, as I continue to evolve my designs.

Seward Cafe Revamp

Brand Design

Seward Cafe is a local cafe and venue located in the eccentric Seward neighborhood. While they are pretty well known and have a longstanding presence in the neighborhood, they needed quite a bit of revamp with their branding in general and a more user friendly, efficient website. My mission was to keep up their homegrown, down-to-earth feel in the aesthetics of the menus, a new refined cohesive logo and a more accessible, streamlined website. Using already existing elements I enhanced their brand to be more organized and modern while remaining organic, friendly and unique.

Visual Sound of Music

Advertising Design

Many people know the names of bands such as Linkin Park, Green Day, Deftones, etc. but many don’t know the man behind the design of their iconic album artwork. Frank Maddocks is a graphic designer most well known for being Senior Art Director at Warner Bros Records for 4 years and most recently VP of Creative Services. My mission was to advertise a fictional meet and greet event with Maddocks. Since his graphic work is more well known than his name, I wanted to play off of his style with a grunge, rock feel and modern font choices and also alluding to the album covers that he has created.

I Love Minneapolis

Logo Design

Minneapolis is a wonderfully diverse, culture-rich city that is usually rather underrated. Unfortunately our logo hardly reflects any of these aspects, rather just that we have lots of lakes. My mission was to create a logo that still features a well known part of Minneapolis and to change the slogan to be more inclusive and exciting. I chose the iconic cherry on a spoon to not only represent our artist culture but also represents a rich food scene and lesser known agricultural aspect of MN. In the letterhead I chose to still allude to water but also highlight our often underappreciated skyline.
