Hi I’m Brenda, a print and digital designer with skills in illustration and printmaking. Creating things that make people smile is my jam. I value collaboration, community, and making things better by designing with empathy. My work is cheeky, bright, fun, and quirky. When I’m not designing, I’m listening to true crime podcasts, making paintings of my cat, or going on bicycle adventures with pals.

Hello Health

branding and web design

Hello Health is a fictitious, fast-casual restaurant and food truck. Their focus is on providing fresh, healthy food options for people with specialty dietary needs. This is a part of a larger branding campaign that includes patterns, packaging, and logo design. My design process for this project included hand-sketching wireframes and creating high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and prototypes in Adobe XD.

Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District

promotional campaign

These posters and rack cards were designed for the Minneapolis Downtown Improvement District (DID) to promote activation on the new Nicollet. The posters are part of a series of modular directory signage to promote public services, events, announcements, and activities on Nicollet. I created a template using the DID’s Nicollet brand guidelines and assets that can be easily used by future interns and employees to keep the directory up to date. The rack cards were distributed to businesses and tourist information centers in downtown Minneapolis to promote their Go Tours audio walking tours of Nicollet.

AIGA's Get Out the Vote 2016 Poster Campaign

poster campaign

This t-shirt design was inspired by the AIGA’s Get Out the Vote 2016 poster campaign. My goal was to create a design that would appeal to young voters, so I created a fun pattern using hand-drawn images. The weight of the bold sans-serif font is in stark contrast to the silly line drawings within the pattern, which is meant to convey that despite all of the craziness surrounding our elections, we should take the duty of voting seriously.
